Pump Packaging
- Baseplate Mounting: Secure the pump and its driver (motor or engine) to a heavy-duty, stress-relieved, and machined steel Baseplate Selection for Pumps to ensure structural rigidity and prevent twisting or warping during transit.
- Utility Piping & Protection: Install and brace small utility piping (for lubrication, drains, or seals) securely with heavy walls and rigid supports to eliminate vibration-induced stress points
Port Sealing: Cover the suction and discharge flanges with plastic or wooden blank covers to block dust, moisture, and debris from entering the internal volute and impeller. - Coating: Apply anti-corrosion grease or rust-preventative coatings on unpainted machined surfaces, exposed shaft extensions, and threads.
Delivery and Transport
- Cushioning and Crating: Fasten the skid-mounted pump package securely to a wooden pallet or heavy wooden crate using heavy-duty bolting or industrial strapping.
- Lifting Safety: Use certified lifting lugs, spreader bars, or slings attached strictly to the baseplate lifting points—never lift an assembled pump-motor unit by the pump or motor shaft/eyebolts alone.
- Inspection on Arrival: Perform a receipt inspection by checking the packing list, turning the shaft manually to verify smooth rotation, and screening for external shipping damage before signing off on delivery.
